I am a native of Springfield, Mass., and a fellow Chestnut alumna. This is my third year as a special education teacher at Chestnut Impact and my first year in the special education coordinator role. I have a master’s in education with a concentration in moderate disabilities. I am excited about meeting and partnering with you and your scholar(s) this year. Hi Everyone! My Name is Karla Santos, I am a first-year 6th Grade Math Special Education teacher. I just graduated with my Bachelor's in Education from Florida International University. I have worked with children since I was just 15 years old in different settings. I am from Miami, Fl born and raised. My family and I are Hispanic from Dominican Republic. I speak both English and Spanish. My passion for guiding and teaching children led me to this great school, and I can't wait to make an impact at impact! Hello Impact community! My name is Amy Frye and I will be teaching science and math in our language learning disabilities program. This is my fourth year working in the Springfield public school system and first year at Impact Prep.
I'm a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in sociology with a concentration in social justice and inequality.
I'm excited to partner with our students, their parents and caregivers, and our community to help facilitate their growth, a love of learning, and a desire to lead.
